Executive Mosaic’s GovCon Index closed in the green Wednesday amid mixed results among U.S. stock indexes in anticipation of economic updates ahead.
The GCI ended at $137.29, up 1.09 percent, with V2X (NYSE: VVX) leading the gainers with a 4.84 percent boost after the government services contractor announced it holds a position on the U.S. Air Force’s $32.5 billion Training Systems Acquisition IV contract.
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) climbed 0.90 percent following the introduction of a joint program with Immersive Labs aimed at helping the cybersecurity sector address the talent shortage.
General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), which declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.32 per share and added Army veteran Charles Hooper to the corporation’s board of directors, gained 1.60 percent.
Meanwhile, Palantir Technologies‘s (NYSE: PLTR) two-day winning streak ended Wednesday when the data analytics firm lost 4.98 percent, the largest decline in the GCI overall.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.27 percent while the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 declined 1.29 percent and 0.38 percent, respectively, ahead of the May inflation data publication and Federal Reserve’s policy meeting next week.
